Seattle Fitness was purchased from a former club in September of 1995 by members Tija (Tia) Petrovich, personal trainer and award-winning bodybuilder; and Sandy Smith, self-employed business consultant. The original club was built in 1984.
One of the main factors contributing to the purchase of the club was its "home-like," easy, and comfortable feel. Seattle Fitness is a welcoming, "no attitude" health club with a diverse membership.
Remaining in the same Pioneer Square historic building since 1984, the club is one of Seattle's oldest established health facilities. Since the change of ownership in 1995, there have been many upgrades in equipment, classes, and policies. One of the key changes is hands-on owner operations.
The latest change at Seattle Fitness is the move from the second floor location in the 83 King building to the Southwest corner of the building. Seattle Fitness not only welcomed a new loft-styled space, but all new equipment, making our club a state-of-the-art facility. Even with this major change to the facility, the club managment and values remain the same.
On a daily basis, the club is managed by Tija, who is assisted by a professionally-trained, member-oriented staff. At Seattle Fitness, your goals are our priorities. We understand that fitness is a commitment and lifestyle changes take time. We want to be there for you. We mean it when we say "Welcome to our Club." |
